It's so easy to figure out pal:
Imagine that Sid is working at the speed of x / h (amount of work done in an hour) and Gus works at the speed of 2x/h. so when working together we have this speed:
1x/h + 2x/h = 3x/h.
if you multiply the total amount of working hours(4) by the speed, you'll gain the total amount of the work that should be done:
(3x/h) * 4h=12x
so,
if a person wants to work alone, there will be 12x of work to do. now if you devide the total amount work by each peson's working speed, you'll get the amount of time each person should do.
for Gus: (12x)/ (2x/h) = 6 h = 6 hours
for Sid : (12x)/ (1x/h)= 12h
now if you can work at the speed of 4x/h (twice as fast as gus) you'll finish with your work in 3 hours and you'll have plenty of time to choose my answer as the best answer!
Good luck!
