PEspring=1/2ks^2
ks=ma so a=ks/mIf I have I know the potential energy of a spring. How can I figure out the acceleration that it will create?
potential energy for a spring is (0.5)*(F)*(displacement) where force F can also be represented as kx. solve for force by dividing the potential energy by the displacement and multiplying it by 2. you can then solve for acceleration since force = ma. just divide the force value by the mass of the object the spring is accelerating.
