How do you figure your percent based off a point system?

The percent is the ratio of your partial to the whole, per 100.





So if you have 75 points possible on a test, and you get 65 right, your partial is 65 over the whole of 75:





65 / 75 = 0.8667





Multiply it by 100 to get the percent: 86.67%





If you don't see why multiply by 100, assume you got them all right:





75 / 75 = 1





multiply that by 100 to get: 1* 100 = 100%
