Can anyone give me a ';ballpark'; figure on how much it would cost to replace a starter on a 1993 BMW-325 i.s.?

well by the labor hour book either motor in that car calls for 1.5 hours labor personally my labor rate is 65 an hour so labor would cost you 97.50 and the price of a new starter is 311.82 the price of a rebuilt is 223.07 so if you went with new you would be looking at 409.32 plus tax if you went with rebuilt it would be 320.57 plus tax. That is through my shop and my labor rate but keep in mind that labor rates and even prices vary from shop to shop and area to areaCan anyone give me a ';ballpark'; figure on how much it would cost to replace a starter on a 1993 BMW-325 i.s.?
It depends upon how clever you are. You can do the removal yourself or with a little bit of help. Take it to an alternator shop, and have them re-build it for you. This way, you know what you are getting. Tell them you want genuine Bosch parts used in it, not generic parts. They will lube it, power clean it. In short, you will have a NEW alternator for 1/4th the price of a factory new one. You could also exchange it at a BMW dealer parts counter. Figure out why it went bad. Usually, it is because the engine has an oil leak that drips onto it or into it. This, then, must be stopped to prevent future woes. Good Luck!!Can anyone give me a ';ballpark'; figure on how much it would cost to replace a starter on a 1993 BMW-325 i.s.?
If you take it to an independent garage that specializes in foreign cars it will cost $400-500.
Listen up girly... get yourself a tadger and do the job yourself... Have some pride and self respect. WOMEN!
