you can't. but you can go into safe mode and ';boot with networking prompts';. You can access the administrator account and then create a guest account.How could you figure out a password?
password to what? If it's to login to the XP system, then you might want to try to get a hold of a program called ERD Commander from Winternals. It will reveal all the system passwords.
If it's a password to an email or whatever, get a keylogger program and it will copy every keystroke that's input into the system.
