How do you figure this math question out?

Please be as detailed as possible:

The enrollment of a college is as distributed as follows:

360 freshman

300 sophomores

280 juniors

260 seniors

The freshman class makes up what percentage of the total enrollment?

****

**** Not enough information given, IS an option for the answersHow do you figure this math question out?
So, the total students are

= 360 + 300 + 280 + 260

= 1,200 students

1,200 students--------------------------100%

360 students-----------------------------x=?

Use the criss cross method to solve for x

x= 360 * 100/ 1,200

x= 30%

So, freshman class makes up 30% of the total enrollment.How do you figure this math question out?
To over-analyze this question, it is quite possible that not enough information is given. Lots of colleges have graduate programs, and continuing education, so that some students are not classified as any of those four levels.

However.

It is pretty likely that the writer of this problem doesn't expect you to consider that an issue. To find out what percentage of the students described are freshmen, add up all the numbers: 360 + 300 + 280 + 260 = 1200

This means that 360 out of 1200 students are freshmen. Divide these numbers: 360 / 1200 = 0.3

Converting 0.3 to a percentage: 0.3 * 100 = 30

The freshman class is 30%
The equation would be:

Number of freshman/Total enrolment x 100

OR

360/1200 x 100 = 30%

30% is your answer.
360 / (360+300+280+260)

= .30

30% Freshman
